Get ready to jump into the rabbit hole. On March 5, 2009, Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland is coming to the big screen. The film is going to use performance capture technology and live action footage. When you record actions and expression of a human actor and use that information to make a computer generated 2D or 3D animation that is performance capture. Beowulf also used this technology.
Expect Burton’s gothic touch in this film. Though the film is expected to be darker that the previous version. Filmmakers say that kids would be able to handle watching the movie. At least most kid would. This would be the seventh time Johnny Depp will work with Tim Burton as he plays the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter would play the Red Queen while Anne Hathaway will play the White Queen. The role of Alice would be played by Aussie Actress Mia Wasikowska who is part of the cast of HBO show In treatment. Alan Rickman (Professor Snape in the Harry Potter series) would play the role of the caterpillar while Christopher Lee (Saruman in the Lord of the rings trilogy) would play the Jabberwock
I can’t wait to see the movie. I hope it is as good as Tim Burton’s earlier films Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.
