Saturday 8 PM. 22 hours before the wedding

The episode begins with Barney is handcuffed to Pipe in a security office for causing some disturbance in a laser tag arena. Robin is with Barney and was furious since their rehearsal dinner has started 10 minutes earlier in the Farhampton Inn. Barney was begging the guard to push the button on a novelty toy but was not able to since Robin objected.

A few months back, Robin told the gang about the idea of having the wedding in Canada. Queue Canada jokes. Barney had an idea of having a rehearsal dinner in a laser tag arena. Everyone shut down the Idea but Barney wasn't going to let it drop so easily. As a wedding gift, Ted wanted to play the piano during the wedding which was refused by Barney and Robin until Ted told them that he will wear a Liberace will doing it.


Back in Farhampton bar, Barney believes that Robin is planning to surprise him by having the rehearsal dinner at the Laser tag arena. He believes that the dinner in Farhampton is fake. When the ice dispenser has broken down, Barney insisted of getting the ice himself. Despite promising to Robin that he will not leave the Farhampton Inn, he went  to the shop near the laser tag arena to get some ice.




Robin then receives a phone call informing him that Barney has been detained for causing some disturbance and insisted that there is a surprise rehearsal dinner for him in the arena. In the office, Barney told Robin that in the future it would be possible for him to lie to her if it means an amazing surprise. Barney finally pressed the button which lifted up the walls of the security office. Robin and Barney was in the middle of the skating rink. Barney told her that since they couldn't have the wedding in Canada, he prepared a Canadian-themed wedding rehearsal dinner for her. Ted then revealed to Lily that he has been taking skating lessons in the last few months. The episode ended with Robin thanking Barney for the surprise

No Marshall and Marvin in this episode. That means he missed yet another important moment in the Wedding weekend. Barney has made a great surprise we have to give kudos for making the episode not too cheesy but not to boring at the same time.

With a only few more episodes left n the series, I wish that they put the mother in the spotlight more. Since it took nine seasons for Ted and the mother to meet, I hope the wait for fans like me would be worth it.
