An alien race called Mimics hit Earth with a massive attack that Humans could not win. Lt Col. William "Bill" Cage (Tom Cruise and Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) are part of the human resistance fighting the alien race. Due to a time loop, Cage has to die, reborn, fight the aliens and die again. The process repeats itself and every time it does Cage becomes more skillful in fighting the aliens and comes closer to victory.
