Noah is based on the bible story Noah's Ark. In the story God flooded the earth but before doing so he warns Noah and tells him to build an Ark to save him and those willing to be save. Along with his family, he brings along animals to the Ark. Many who were warned but did not joined him in Ark died with the floods came. 

Noah is played by Russell Crowe. Originally the role was offered to Christian Bale but he opted to accept the role of Moses in the upcoming 2014 movie called Exodus. Ila, Noah's adopted daughter, was originally offered to Dakota Fanning but due to schedule issues, the role was given to Emma Watson. Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins is also part of cast
