CSI Las Vegas Season 11 Episode 1: Shock Waves

Despite loosing William Petersen (Gil Grissom) and Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) from the cast, CSI Las Vegas is still a good series to watch. Laurence Fishburne was able to fill the void as he plays Dr. Raymond (Ray) Langston.  Last season Ray was stabbed by Serial Killer Nate Haskell and viewers were left hanging on what his fate will be.

During the 11th season premiere of CSI, I really thought that Fishburne won’t reprise his role. At the beginning of the episode, Police discovered a bloody Ray on the floor outside Haskell’s cell. He was rushed to the hospital and then later went to cardiac arrest. Later Nick and other police officers were attending a funeral. I really thought the Langston died but it was the funeral of Franklin Clark, a cop killed by the serial killer known as Dr. Jekyll last season. A Bomber planned to killed as many police officers as he can but was prevented after Nick discovered a van full with explosive parked near where the funeral was being held.

Justin Bieber guests as Jason McCann the brother of Alex McCann, the bomber who has a grudge with the Las Vegas police department. Jason was imprisoned from having prior knowledge of the bombing, The Las Vegas police thought the bombings would end after the killed the bomber but it seems that there is another bomber. In the end of the episode, Jason was inside a prison cell and was smiling towards the camera. We may see Bieber reprise his role as Jason McCann on later episodes.

Ray lost a kidney due to the attack and was consoled by chief Medical examiner Al Robbins. Nick was coping with the trauma of being shot. At first Nick, doesn’t seem affected with the shooting involving Dr. Jekyll last season, but the confrontation with the bomber revealed that he does indeed need help.

As a whole, I was impressed with the story. It seems that CSI Las Vegas won’t get cancelled anytime soon.
