President Nonynoy Aquino adamant about no siren policy

In his inaugural speech, President Noynoy Aquino has pledged not to use sirens and follow the traffic rules like any other Filipino students. This is admirable but how long would he keep his pledge? Personally, I would think of him less if he starts using his privilege as President. Under the law, the president, vice president, the senate president, speaker of the house, Supreme court justice, military and emergency vehicles are allowed to use siren and drive through red lights. His pledge as admirable as it may be, is not necessary for a someone who holds the title of President of the country. He has to consider his safety and the amount time he will be spending stuck in traffic. The amount of time he wasted stuck in traffic could have been use in a more productive way.

He was late for a military turnover ceremony on Friday when he got stuck in traffic for 40 minutes. It. may have set a good example to other Filipinos but being late for an event is not something a president should be doing on a normal basis.

Security wise it would be dangerous for the presidential convey to stuck at a certain location over a long period of time. He really has to reconsider his no sirens policy. But like I said before, I don't think it is point against him if starts using sirenes.

  2. @ Josie - Hi there. He really needs to reconsider his own policy it is a big risk for him to be stuck in traffic. And he wouldn't be a good example if he is late all the time. I don't know if it is a pa-masa effect, i think he shouldn't really be concern with what the people think of him now. He did won the election by landslide anyway. He still has the trust of the people and should just concern with the bigger problems the Philippines has
