Person of Interest Season 2 Episode 5: Bury the Lede

An Investigative reporter Maxine Angelus is the next number that the machine has provided. Maxine is trying to write an expose on who is the head of HR, an organization that has dirty cops and politician on their pockets.

To protect Maxine, Finch had to hack a dating website to pair her with John. Complication arises when they found out that Maxine is also eager to write a story about the mysterious “Man in the suit”.
Maxine got an anonymous tip from a blocked cellphone number and Maxine wrote a story that wrongly accuses the son of a former mob boss Christopher Zembrano of being the head of HR. Still persistent of finding the truth, Reese and Maxine search for the Ledger that has all the people of HR’s pocket.
Eventually they retrieved the Ledger but before turning it over to evidence, Fusco removed to pages that will incriminate him and Simmons.
At the end of the episode, Reese asked if Maxine will write about the “Man in the suit” and she told him that if that person did really exist she would have met him already. Simmons was talking to HR leader in the end of the episode. It is revealed that he is Griffin ’s campaign manager Alonzo Quinn.

Person of interest is the only action TV show that I watch after 24 has ended. The story writing has great and the writers have done a great job in keeping people guessing on what will happen next. There were no flashbacks in this episode which is quite rare. This is a great episode to watch. Now that we know who the head of HR is, would that mean we will see more of Quinn’s character? We just have to wait and watch the future episode.

Maxene Angelus is played by Gloria Votsis. Votsis plays a recurring role in White Collar TV series as the master Thief Alex Hunter. She made other guesting in Suburgatory and Hawaii Five-O.

The Walking dead Season 3 Episode 8: Made to suffer Spoilers

Warning: Possible Spoilers

After watching the preview for the next episode of walking dead titled Made to Suffer, I could not help my self from searching the web for spoilers. This is what I gather so far.

1. Tyreese will be introduced in the mid season finale. Based on the comics, Tyreese will be Rick’s second in command. He is a former NFL Linebacker and is very good in killing zombies. He will have a relationship with Michonne and would help the Atlanta survivor’s clear the prison of walkers.

Chad Coleman as Tyreese

After watching the first seven episode of the walking dead’s third season, I thought the prison is Zombie free. After watching the preview Carl and the rest of the survivors would have some zombie problems. Would this mean that Tyreese will help them get rid of the walkers?

2. Michonne would find the Governor’s zombie daughter Penny. The governor is keeping Penny in cage somewhere in Woodbury. In the preview, there is a scene where the Governor is looking at the cage with a concerned look. Does this mean Michonne will kill Governor’s daughter?

3. Somebody in the Rick’s group will be killed. When T-bone and Lori were killed early in the third season, it made me wonder if the writers are done with killing the main characters. It makes me wonder what would top the surprised deaths. I guess it is more deaths. But I knew that they were running out of main characters to kill. Based on the web search, most of the sites that I read say that Oscar would meet his demise during the rescue.

4. Maggie and Glenn wouldn’t be saved just yet. Here is another spoiler that I have been reading all over the net. The writers wouldn’t give Rick’s group a break with their luck.

5. Andrea will choose a side between Rick and the Governor’s group. In the preview it seems that Andrea will be on the Governor’s side. But based on my search again and based on the comics, Andrea will leave Woodbury and join Rick’s group again.

I saw a few more speculations but these are the most common spoilers that I got. The mid season finale is definitely something that I am eager to watch. Although I hate reading spoilers, I just couldn’t stop myself in trying to know that the writers have cooked up with the next episode.

In the last episode the Governor seem very concerned and even scared of the Idea of what Rick and the other’s was able to accomplished when they cleared the zombies in the Prison. It would be great to see Rick and the Governor face off finally. But I don’t think that the governor would meet his end on this episode. Based on the comics, the governor would kill Tyrese. This might mean that this Arc would not end with this season or that Tyreese might not die just yet. Tyreese would be a very important piece in Rick’s group. I can’t wait to see how they will portray him in the series.

Merlin ends after the fifth season

This is bad news for all Merlin fans out there. BBC one has pulled the plug on the TV series based on the Arthurian Legend.  I am sad to hear that Merlin would end after this season. I have been watching the show since it first aired back in 2008. I don’t how they will cram all the stories they need in the last remaining episode for them to give Merlin a proper ending. Why would they cancel it now that it is starting to become really great.

I thought this season was off in a good start with the inclusion of Mordred in the story. Based on the Arthurian legend, Mordred betrays Arthur and fights the later at the Battle of Camlamn. In some of the stories, Modred kills Arthur during the battle while some says that it is the other way around.  In other stories Modred dies during the battle and Arthur was brought to Avalon to recover from his wounds.

It is still unknown how the show will tell the story but in the earlier episode of the fifth season, Merlin sees vision of Modred stabbing Arthur in a battle which is probably the battle of Camlamn.
We yet still how to see how Morgana’s power grows and how the two dragons battle each other. There are too many things that I want to see from the show and I hoping to see them before they close the curtain.

I know Merlin hasn’t been as good as the early seasons but I am not sure they should end it with this season. Merlin hasn’t really reached his full potential. At his current state Merlin isn’t considered legendary. I hope they reconsider because this is one of the series that I enjoy watching. Now that Merlin is ending what should I watch next? One of the reasons why I enjoy this series is that this is the only show that the timeline is during medieval era. Meaning, there is no electricity, no gadgets and no guns. That means a lot of sword fights. There is this new show called revolution but it won’t cut it.What are your thoughts?

The Walking dead Season 3 Episode 7: When the dead come knocking

Don’t read if you haven’t watch the episode

As expected, the folks from Woodbury are eager to get information from Glenn and Maggie. Merle started his interrogation and ended violently beating Glenn. When Glenn still refuses to give out the location of the prison, Merle let a zombie lose while Glenn was still tied to the chair.

When that did not work the Governor stepped in and interrogating Maggie. He first asked or the better word for it is ordered Maggie to remove her shirt and then her Bra. The Governor had this look and his face that clearly tells us that he is a psycho. He threatened to rape her but did not push through with it.

Back in the prison, Rick and Carl saved Michonne from being eaten by walkers. They asked how she found the prison and told them that he saw Glenn and Maggie being taken by Merle. But she did not mentioned Merle’s name. Rick, Daryl, Oscar along with Michonne went to Woodbury but run into a group of walkers along the way. They seek refuge in a house in the middle of the woods but an unnamed man was there first. When the man went hysterical and was about to open the door, Michonne stabbed him. They have to throw the body to the walkers as a diversion for them to escape.

Back in Woodbury, the Governor brought Maggie to Glenn and threatened to kill him if they do not give the location of the other survivors. Maggie had no choice and spilled out the beans. With the new information that they acquire, the governor ordered his men to scout the prison and learn more about the survivors. He seems agitated after learning that it took only 10 people to clear the whole prison of walkers. The episode ended with Rick and the others scouting the gates to Woodsbury.

The preview for mid-season finale shows that Rick’s group while engage the people from Woodsbury. Daryl would have to decide where his loyalties lie whether it is with the group or with his brother. In the preview, it also shows that the survivors in the prison are in some sort of trouble. It seems like a walker problem. I am eager to know if the Woodbury people would have the chance to go to the prison while Rick and the others are pre-occupied in saving Maggie and Glenn. I also would like to know where Michonne’s loyalty lies. She definitely does not have any love for the Governor but it also doesn’t seem that she trust Rick and the others as well.  I can’t wait to watch the next episode. The two groups while finally collide. We know that the killing the main characters is not something new for the Walking dead. In the comics Rick would lose his arm would he lose it in the TV series adaptation as well? I guess we just have to stay tuned. What do you think of this week’s episode?

Ricky Hatton retires for the second time

34 year Old Ricky Hatton retires for the second time after losing to Ukrainian welterweight Vyacheslav Senchenko. Hatton has won the world championship in two weight division and retired for the first time after being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in the second round in their fight last May 2, 2009. Three and Half years later Hatton return to ring against former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko who just lost his title to Paul Malignaggi last April 29, 2012. Ironically Hatton defeated Paul Malignaggi and retained his IBO Light welterweight title last Nov 22, 2008.

During the three years Hiatus from the boxing ring, Hatton went through severe depression and had to be admitted to a rehabilitation facility due substance abuse. Due to his depression, he almost took his own life but was able to overcome his demons and get back in the ring last November 24, 2012.

Hatton was up in score cards during the early rounds of the fight but Senchecko’s punches were too much for him to handle and was put on the canvas during the 9th round. Hatton failed to beat the count and bowed down during their bout in MEN Arena in Machester England.

Movie Review: MIB 3

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones reprise their role as agent J and agent K respectively for the third movie in the MIB film series.  Josh Brolin plays the younger version of agent K. Rip Torn does not reprise his Role as Zed and has been replaced by Emma Thompson as agent O.

Agent J has to travel back in time to hunt down Boris the Animal, a surviving member of Boglodite race, and prevent him from killing agent K and changing the future. Agent J meets a younger agent K and but everything does not run smoothly. J has to enlist the help of agent K without telling him the complete truth to prevent complications and changing the future.

In the future the Boglodite was unable to enter earth due to the defense system called the Arcnet. Since Boris killed K back in 1969 the Arcnet system was not installed and Earth was vulnerable from a Boglodite invasion.

Back in 1969, they agents meet Griffin in one of Andy Warhol’s event. In this movie Andy Warhol is an agent for the MIB as well. In the event Boris appears and tried to kill Griffin . In the commotion, Griffin escaped and so does Boris.

Eventually then found Griffin again and he gave them the Arcnet. The Arcnet will be automatically activated when it leaves earth’s atmosphere. Since they don’t have the technology at the time, the only way to activate the Arcnet is to put it on top of the Apollo Rocket before it launches for the moon.

The younger and older Boris worked together to prevent the two agents from deploying the Arcnet. Agent J had to deal with the older Boris. He memorized the attack patterns of Boris and time traveled minutes earlier to prevent the attacks from hitting him. Eventually Boris fell from the scaffolding and was incinerated when the rocket has blast off. Agent K sprayed liquid nitrogen on the younger Boris and shot it leaving it to shatter. Agent K then placed the Arcnet on the top of the rocket and escaped immediately.

He was then congratulated by Colonel James Darell Edwards Jr., head of security of the Space Launch and has given them access when Griffin showed him a glimpse of the future. Then the younger Boris reappeared and killed the Colonel with his spikes. Later a younger agent J appeared. It is revealed that K neuralyzes him to prevent him from getting the trauma.

Agent J goes back to the future and meets K in the diner and showed him his father’s watch and thanks him.

This is way better than the MIB 2 in my opinion. The story was well written and somehow connected some of the dots on why agent K is agent K. It has been 14 years since I watched the first film and I am glad they made this one. It gives as more of a back story about agent K.

There are talks of MIB 4 that would include Will Smith’s son Jaden. It would be interesting to see what the writers would cook up for this installment. When it comes out, I will definitely watch it!

The Walking dead Season 3 Episode 6: Hounded

Don’t read if you haven’t watch the episode

Last episode Michonne was allowed to leave Woodbury. But apparently the Governor did not want her to stay alive. Merle and his men begun hunting Michonne and saw her work of art as Merle has called it a “biter gram”.  The meaning of the cryptic message sent “Go Back” with a zombie’s arm shape like a “G”, legs shape as a an “O”, and the back of a zombie which says “back”.

Merle was not intimidated and decided to continue the hunt. Out of nowhere Michonne dropped from a tree and started slashing and stabbing of Merle’s men leaving the third, Garguilo, scared out of his wits. Crowley was sliced in half while Tim was stab by Michonne and was used as a body shield. Merle was able to shot Michonne’s leg leaving her limping.

Back in the prison, Rick is still suffering from insanity although before the end of the episode he seems to break away from it. But before doing so, he was hallucinating and was able to have a conversation with the people who died along the way. Finally speaking to Lori, or the version of Lori in his mind, he was able to get his act together and hold his baby for the first time.

Back with Michonne, Merle continues the hunt and was able to injure Garguilo. Refusing to return back to Woodbury and lie about Michonne’s death. Merle put a bullet in Garguilo to avoid from hunting Michonne further. Michonne was able to escape and reached a part of town where she saw Glenn Maggie. Unfortunately Merle also found the two. Merle saw a window of opportunity and took Maggie hostage. He eventually persuaded the two to drive back to Woodbury.

Michonne was smart enough to find the prison and bring along the Milk that Glenn and Maggie found. To Michonne’s surprise, she was not attacked by a group of walkers since she is covered with zombie’s blood and guts.

Back in the prison, Daryl found Carol’s knife stuck in a walker’s neck. He found a room where he assumed that Carol’s is in. Before opening the door, he was psyching himself up with the possibility that Carol has turned and preparing himself to what he has to do. Fortunately Carol was just in a bad shape and pretty exhausted but still human.

The episode ended when Rick was in the courtyard with the baby and the others. He found Michonne standing on the other side of fence with unharmed by the walkers.

In the preview, Michonne would go on with her merry ways of killing the walkers. Glenn and Maggie would be interrogated by the folks in Woodbury and Michonne while provide Intel to Rick about their comrades whereabouts.

Good thing Rick seems to have put his act together and ready to take leadership of the group again. Carl is pretty in a messed up place as well still dealing with what he had to do with his mother. Glenn and Maggie are also in some serious trouble. Knowing what the Governor has done to outsiders, we could only guess that they will be dead if they give out information of their friends. Through all of this Andrea is still unaware and seems to have developed some sort of relationship with the Governor. The real question is hat will Rick and the others do to retrieve their comrade? What will Daryl’s reaction when he meets up with Merle? Guess we will have to see. A great episode compared to the last one. But we are still waiting for the episode that will top the

Pacquiao vs Marquez IV

Here we go again. We have seen these two three times already and they are going to meet again this coming December 8, 2012. I really don't understand why they have to fight again. Although everybody knows that Marquez is the toughest assignment that Pacquiao has ever had, it is quite boring watching them again fight.

3 fights is enough. If it is Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao fighting for the 4th time, I wouldn't mind. Cotto is brave enough to go head to head with Pacquiao unlike Marquez who is just waiting to counter punch. Given the right combination Cotto might hae beaten Pacquiao. If Marquez was able to knock the wind and put Paquiao on the floor in the last two matches that they had, then it might be an interesting match.

Both Camps are now claiming that their fighters has never been in a better than they are right now. Both camps are claiming that they will beat their opponents. Heard that before. Get it over with and bring someone new. Mayweather are you up to it? Or are you still waiting for Pacquiao to aged more?

I hope the December 8 match is something different from what we have seen before. Pacquiao has to go for the knockout to convince his critics that he still has it in him. Knock him out and shut him up for good so that we could close this Marquez chapter that has been going longer than expected. We will just have to wait and see.

This new installment is directed by J.J. Abrams. He is better known for his work in Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Super 8 and Cloverfield. He is also involved with TV series such as Person of Interest, Alcatraz , Lost and Revolution.

The extended trailer for this film would be shown in IMAX during the showing of The Hobbit: An Unexpected journey. It is still unknown what the story is but knowing J.J. Abrams previous work, this is definitely a movie to watch out for.

Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (Dr. Leonard “Bones” Mccoy), Zoel Saldana (Nyota Uhura) and John Cho (Hikaru Sulu) will reprise their role in this coming movie.

Since I have only watched Star Trek Nemesis and Star Trek (the 2009 reboot), I am started to get hooked with this franchise. I’ll be watching the rest but I am glad they started the reboot.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters
Release date: August 16, 2013

This is the second movie based on the novel written by Rick Riordan’s pentalogy Percy Jackson and the Olympians and is set to release on August 16, 2013.

Percy Jackson is the son of Poseidon and a mortal named Sally Jackson. At the beginning of the story, Percy has not met his estranged father and does not know that he is a demigod. As the story progress, he will meet other demigods and other mystical creatures including Satyr name Grover who is not only his best friend but is also a protector. Protectors are bodyguards and guide for new Demigods who are newly discovered. They are tasked to lead newly discovered demigods to Camp Half-blood for their training.

In this book, Percy will meet his half-brother Tyson. He is the son of Poseidon and a nature spirit.  They would have to retrieve the Golden Fleece to cure the poisoned Thalia’s Pine Tree. The Tree provides magically defense against monsters and Human.

They also have to search for their friend Grover Underwood has gone missing while currently on Quest. It is later revealed that he is also in the Sea of monster where the Golden Fleece is also located. They will also meet their former ally, Luke who is trying to revive Kronos, a powerful Titan and the father of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.

Fast and Furious 6
Release date: May 24, 2013.

This is sixth installment of Fast and Furious film series. Almost all of the cast from Fast five will reprise their role including Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), Paul Walker (Brian O’Conner), Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), Dwayne Johnson (Luke Hobbs), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Chris “Ludacris” Bridges (Tej Parker), Sung Kang (Han Seoul-Oh), and Gal Gador (Gisele Yashar)

Only the last film, Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) showed Luke Hobbs photos of Toretto’s ex-girlfriend Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez). Letty was presumed dead but has not resurfaced. The story would definitely involve Dominic and Letty meeting in this film.

I almost gave up on watching the fast and furious series. It seems like seeing 2 films from the series is enough. But Fast Five has gone beyond the simple Car racing plot. It has more to it now. The story is now more about how Dominic and his friends evade capture from the authorities. In the previous films, they seem untouchable and it capturing them seems like an impossible task. But I still enjoy watching the car chase.

For those who enjoyed watching Fast Five, this is a movie to see.
