Izombie pilot review

After watching different types of zombie inspired movies and TV series, I thought I have seen it all. I thought Izombie would just like another zombie comedy show in TV just like z nation or Zombieland. But I was wrong. It is a  refreshing take on zombies.  Most zombies are mindless corpse walking around without any of their humanity left inside of them. In Izombie, the undead are different. They still have a normal heart beat. They are still mostly human with a bizarre food preference. Brains. The less they eat brains the more they become zombies.

The fun part about this is that after eating, zombies would have some of the memories of the people whose brain they just ate. Not only that, they learn skills or behaviour of those people.

The story revolves around Liv Moore (yeah I think it is a pun. Live more?). Liv has the perfect life. She was going to get hitched in a couple of months and then she became a zombie.

Months later she left her promising career for a job in the morgue. She distant herself from her family and called off the wedding in fear that she might infect her love ones.

Then her supervisor learned of her secret. But instead of running away like a normal person,  Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti was fascinated with her condition and was determine to find a cure.

To complicate things, she got involved in solving a murder case. Posing as a Phycic, she help a new detective, , in a solving a crime. Since then she dedicated her life in helping find justice for the people she is feeding on.

I actually enjoyed watching the pilot. It is something like watching warm bodies. It reminded me of the show Heroes as well. Zachary Quinto's character Sylar was eating other people's brains to gain their ability. It is somewhat similar.

Overall the lead actress really fits the role. I think she looks better when she became a zombie. I'll this show a shot and watch the succeeding episode before deciding whether or not to watch the show

Unpause - How I met your mother season 9 episode 15

Sunday 2 AM. 16 hours before the wedding

Marshall tries to delay the inevitable, his worst fight with Lily. Let's do a recap. Marshall and Lily had plans of living in Italy for a year after Robin and Barney's wedding. However a few days before the wedding, Marshall received a phone call regarding his application for Judgeship. The catch is, they needed the answer quick and could not wait for Marshall to return from Italy after a year. Marshall accepted the offer without consulting with Lily first. To delay the talk, Marshall ordered rounds of drinks. Eventually he had to talk to Lily leaving Barney, Robin and Ted in still drinking in the Bar.

They learned that Barney has certain tells if he is drunk. If he starts talking like Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars, he is pretty drunk. But after that, Barney enters a phase of truth serum like drunkenness that answers the questions about Barney that has eluded them for years. Starting with the secret behind Barney's magic trick, to what really happened between him and Ted's mom, to the x-ray machine that Barney claims that works. But the question that they really wanted to be answer is what Barney does for a living.

Over the years always replied the same way when asked about his job, "Please". Please actually stands for Provide LegalExculpation And Sign Everything. Robin and Ted was worried that his job could land him in jail but Barney revealed his plan. Barney tracked down the person named Greg who stole his girlfriend and cause his transformation. After accepting the job, he planned Greg's downfall. Eventually he gave information to the FBI that led to Greg's arrest months after their wedding.

Marshall and Lily then started to discuss Marshall’s acceptance of the Job. They got in a huge fight and Marshall brought up the incident years back when Lily went to San Francisco. He claims that he has to right to be selfish since Lily did that to him years back. Lily then got into a car and left Farhampton.

Marshall and Lily get to a fight that according to future Ted is one of the worst fights that they ever had. This episode reveals a lot of things about Marshall especially how he feels about Lily’s new job and the San Francisco events a few years back. It seems that Marshall has not completely forgiven Lily for leaving him for her dreams. The real question now is where is Lily going and who did she call.

On the lighter side, we finally learn about Barney’s job. It has been a mystery for the last nine seasons what he really does and now that he has told the truth, that is one question crossed out before the series ends. I think it was great that they have somehow brought back Greg and Barney was able to exact his revenge. I never thought that he would eventually make Greg pay for stealing his girlfriend. In fact I completely forgot about him.

The countdown to the series finally is almost down. Only a fight episodes left I am starting to feel sad for this show to end. What are your thoughts about unpause?

Lethe - Person of Interest Season 4 Episode 11

After Carter’s death Reese heads over to his father’s old watering hole in Colorado. Fusco tracks him down to try to talk him to coming back. Finch is reluctant in accepting new numbers from the machine after it failed to warn them of Carter’s death on time. But after reluctantly getting information on the new number, he realized that it belongs to his old colleague in MIT Arthur Claypool. He learns that Arthur has brain tumors and has been having memory lapse. He is guarded by government agents trying to keep information going to the wrong hands about a machine called Samaritan that he created which is similar to what Harold created.

Fusco is still trying to convince Reese to return to New York. Reese was persistent and was not willing to come with Finch. They started fighting and moments later they were arrested by the police.

With the help of only Shaw he tracks down Claypool and save him and his wife from a group called vigilance who intends to use the machine for their benefit. Later Claypool informs Harold that his wife has been dead for two years. The person posing as his wife is “Control”. She is Shaw’s former boss.

After the winning the war against HR everyone thought that they would easier for Reese and the gang to do their work. But the threat from the Government and Vigilance is much alive. Reese still has not come to terms with Carter’s death. He is blaming the machine for not warning them in time. Now that the government has identified Finch, it would be a difficult for him to operate.

Aletheia - Person of Interest Season 3 Episode 12

At the end of the previous episode, Shaw, Arthur and Finch were held at gunpoint for information about Samaritan or the machine that Harold created. Whoever leads them to the machine that they created first would live. Shaw was about to be shot as she was deemed useless. Root comes in to the room and started shooting. They were able to escape but Root got shot and was eventually captured.

Finch then learns that Arthur has kept copies of Samaritan in a safety deposit box. As they were about to retrieve it, Collier’s group came to the bank and staged a bank robbery. Finch then locks himself, Arthur and the bank manager inside the vault to prevent Collier from getting the drives.

Root is being tortured for information but got the knife in Control’s pocket. At the opportune moment, she cuts hear restrains loose and held control hostage. She eventually let her go and threatened to kill her family if they continue pursuing them. The bank vault was blown and Collier was able to get inside. But before doing so, Arthur has destroyed the drives. They were saved by Reese and Fusco dressed up in a tactical unit’s uniform.

Root then calls Harold informing him that the drives were swap by the person posing as a bank manager. The real bank manager was found dead. The bank manager then surrenders the drive to Greer from Decima Technologies. Right after he killed the “Bank manager”. Root assures Harold that she would take care of the retrieval of the drives. Reese then informed Harold that he is not coming back to work for him. Clearly he still hasn’t gotten over the fact that the machine failed to warn them on time.

The problem with the government might have solved for now. They have bigger problems to worry about. Vigilance and Decima Technologies are two issues on top of their list. Or is it possible that they are working together. Now that they have lost Carter, it will be more difficult to do their job. Reese is not willing to work with the machine. Root could have proved useful but is not trying to track down the Samaritan Drives. Will they start recruited for their group? What are your thoughts on Aletheia?

4C- Person of Interest Season 3 Episode 13

Reese is still convince in leaving New York and books an international flight. Last minute changes were made on his itinerary. The machine was trying to put Reese on a specific flight to avert a threat. He was instructed to check out the passenger on 4C. He learns that the passenger is being transported by US Marshall. He is linked to an online drug syndicate. He calls Finch and told him that he was not happy about being put in a plane for a mission. Harold assures Reese that he doesn’t have anything to do with.

He then learns that he doesn’t just maintain the website but he is the person who created the whole Idea and is the person called the Sphinx. With the help of flight stewardess, he neutralized the threat from several assassins trying to kill the prisoner. Finch was then forced to hack the aircrafts control and tried to land the passenger plane.

Later Finch meets up with Reese. Reese then became convince to return to New York to help out Finch. Before leaving he intended to get a new suit.
Now that Reese is back on the team what will challenges would they face next. The threat from Vigilance and Decima Technology is still very much alive. The government seem to have backed off for now but we should expect they will come after the team really soon. Root is still the Wild Card. Finch and Reese clearly doesn’t trust her but so far she has been nothing but helpful. Will Root become a permanent part of the group or will she stay solo? It is unclear were here loyalty lies. She would definitely protect the machine no matter what the cost.

Sleepy Hollow Season 1 Finale

The episode begins with the search for the map that George Washington hid. The map reveals the location of the doorway to Purgatory with the incantation to open it. Using the prayer beads of immortal priest, Henry got images of where the map might be kept. They deduced that the map must have been buried along with George Washington.

Ichabod and his group were able to discover the real location of George Washington’s grave. When they got the map, Andy suddenly appeared and came after them. During a moment when Andy gained his consciousness, he warned Abbie to destroy the map since Moloch requires it to win the war.

Ichabod destroyed the map but was able to recreate it using his identic memory. Henry Parish’s vision of the second horseman rising convinced Abbie to search for the doorway to save Katrina since she is the only witch that they know powerful enough to bind the second horseman.

Ichabod Crane was able to rescue Katrina from Purgatory but it came with a price. The prophecy of Ichabod delivering Abbie’s soul to Moloch came true. To release Katrina an exchange must be made leaving them with no choice to but to leave Abbie in Purgatory for Katrina’s soul.

After escaping, they searched for the location of the four white trees where the second horseman will rise. When they got there, Henry bound them and revealed that the 2nd horseman has been in the mortal world for years.  He also revealed that he is Katrina and Ichabod’s son Jeremy. He is angry with both of them and exacting his revenge for being kept buried for two centuries by Katrina’s coven.

Back in purgatory, Abbie faced her fears and confronts Moloch. Moloch grabbed Abbie and was choking her. She then used the necklace that Katrina gave her to escape. Somewhere inside purgatory she was able to meet a younger version of herself. She discovered that she had memories taken away from her. She learned that the second horseman was resurrected the day Abbie and Jenny saw the four white trees.

Jenny was searching for a church that Sheriff Corbin mentioned in his recordings. When she found the sign with church’s name on it, she immediately tries to contact Abbie. As she was driving, the headless horseman shot down her vehicle leaving her injured and unconscious. Henry/Jeremy surrenders Katrina to the headless horseman. He then gives him the seal to release the 2nd horseman War. He then buries Ichabod in the same grave that he was buried for two Centuries.

The finale episode was awesome! I really thought that this series won’t last long but given how the finale was so great, I think we should expect more season of Sleepy hollow. When it first started, I was skeptical about the storyline. The idea that the headless horseman in a modern world setting is quite far fetch. Also having him use a rifle is something that I would have thought seems silly. But the story line was something really well conceptualized.

Adding history in the mix from George Washington to the free masons, it was a recipe for success. It was also hard for the series since it was based on a popular film which starred Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken.  There were certain expectations and viewers were definitely compared the movie and the TV series.

Ichabod and the gang really took a huge blow to their campaign against evil. Ichabod is buried alive by his estranged son. Katrina was taken by the headless horseman. Abbie is stuck in purgatory. Jenny is injured. Frank Irving arrested to save her child.  The biggest blow is the betrayal of Henry who was very useful to the group. It doesn’t fair well for them. We have to wait a little longer for the next season to premiere to get the answers. Who will save Ichabod? How will Abbie escape purgatory? What will happen to Katrina now that the headless horseman has her captive? Now that Henry has broken the seal, would does that mean?  Let’s wait for the next seasons Sleepy hollow Fans. What are your thoughts?

He asked Holt for new cases but was turned down. Holt then ask Amy to conduct the Junior Policeman at risk youth. She seeks the help of Rosa but initially refused Gina's help. Gina then sabotages Amy and Rosa and ridicules them in front of the attendees. Eventually she agrees to help them out. Doyle then helps Terry with the Doll house that he is assembling for his kids.

Peralta was trying to solve a missing person case. Sure of solving the case, he calls on a couple who he thought is related to the elderly person they found. The couple filed a missing person report and was looking for an elderly woman. They soon learned that the couple has been filing missing person report in different states. They learn that this has been they MO all along. They would be possible charged with Insurance fraud, filing of false report and obstruction of Justice.

Definitely the previous two episodes were better. The Slump was not that bad but it was a bit boring for me. Hope they do better in the next episodes. I am still willing to give this show a chance. What are your thoughts?

He is relieved that his brother is still the kind hearted person that he always new. Later Jill failed to stay awake and lost their bet. While a sleep, Pete wrote the number 2 on her forehead.

Two episodes down and I still could decide whether to continue watching this show. Maybe it is because I don't know what main plot is. Is this show only revolving around the bond of the three hill brothers? Or is there something else? I guess will have to seen what else enlisted has to offer in the next episodes. What are your thoughts on Randy get  your gun?

The Following Season 2 Episode 1: Resurrection

Last season Joe Carroll was presumed dead after a boat house filled with gasoline exploded while he was still inside. After the incident, Ryan and Claire was trying to relax in his apartment when they got stabbed stabbed by one of the Joe's followers named Molly who was posing as Ryan's neighbor. Ryan was able to kill Molly by breaking her neck but he was too late. Molly was able to stab Claire in the chest which caused her death.

A year after the incident a group of men wearing mask of Joe's face appeared in the subway and started killing people. Ryan was asked to consult on the case but he refused to assist the FBI. It seems like Ryan is done with his obsession with Carroll. Later it revealed that he is not and has own room filled with notes regarding Joe Carroll and his followers.

Using a computer software, the FBI linked one of Joe's followers to the suspects of the subway killings. Carlos Perez was accompanied by two unknown accomplices. Ryan was one step ahead of them and was able to learn the location of Carlos Perez. He confronted Carlos and was able to learn that Joe did not die in the boat house. Carlos was able to escape. Immediately Carlos goes to a motel where one his friend named Giselle is staying. Later Carlos' two accomplices arrives. Luke and Mark are twins who was also responsible for the murder of Heather Clarke, a dancer that they killed earlier and left in park, propped up in a bench and taped with a Joe's book on her hands.

Carlos told them about Ryan Hardy showing up in his apartment. Luke was furious but was held by his brother. Luke seem to have relaxed and offered Carlos a hug. Luke then suddenly hit Carlos in the throat knocking him to the bed. Emma is hiding with another follower. They are bewildered with the events and have no idea who is responsible for the killings. Before the end of the episode Joe Carroll was seen watching Ryan' interview about not being involved with the investigation of the recent events. Carroll ha grown a beard and goes by the name of Daryll.

I didn't believe for a second that Joe is dead. But I wasn't expecting Claire to die. I thought she was an important part of the story being the woman that both Joe and Ryan ha fallen in love with. The followers seems more chaotic in this season. They don't coordinate with each other. Emma's group is completely clueless.

The following started with a strong season 2 premiere. I almost gave up on this show last year. But it seems like they have given a lot of thought on their story this time around. The  Mark and Luke plot is twisted but very well made. They are great addition to the show.  I think they are more scarier compared  to followers in season one. By declining to offer help to the FBI, Ryan Hardy is free to hunt down Joe and his followers. He is free to do anything to catch his targets.

The question now is, who is running the show? Was it Joe's idea to kill people on the subway or is it somebody else's idea? Or does the followers know that he is even alive? We have to see what happens next.

What are your thoughts on The following Season 2 episode 1?

Brooklyn nine nine Season 1 Episode 2: The Tagger

Detective Peralta is still trying to adhere to his new captain's rules. For being late, Holt assigns Peralta to a graffiti case which Peralta is such a waste of his talents. Holt volunteers to join Peralta on his cases which annoys Peralta. Holt decided to micromanage Peralta until he turns a new leaf.

Things becomes more complicated when they apprehended the suspect of their graffiti case. It turns out that the suspect is the some of the Police Deputy Commissioner. At first he was reluctant to arrest and seek advised of his colleagues. But we the Deputy Commissioner arrived to pick up his son, he was forced to release him without pressing charges.

He then consulted Holt. He then decided to arrest the suspect even it mean losing his job. In the end Holt defended Peralta from the Deputy Commissioner. Both means started to respect each other a bit more after the arrest.

That is something to wait for. Definitely there will be consequence for both Peralta and Holt after arreseting the Deputy Commissioner's son. We will to wait for that. After watching the last two episodes, I am starting to enjoy watching this new show. I will definitely watch a few more episode before deciding whether to continue watching the show or completely stop watching it all together . What are your thoughts?

Brooklyn Nine Nine Pilot review

Jake Peralta, the best detective of Brooklyn's 99th Precinct, was used with their previous captain was so lax that he lets him do whatever he wants. All of that change when their new commanding officer Ray Holt is assigned to the precinct. Compared to the previous captain, Holt is more serious about his job. It was difficult for Holt to rise to from the ranks since he is gay. Now that he was given his first command, he refuses to lose it. This causes problems for Jake Peralta who refuses to follow to simple orders like wearing a tie while working. The two clashes immediately.

Peralta was assigned with Diaz and Boyle to investigate a murder involving a $6000 ham. Peralta and Boyle was able to locate the missing ham but failed to inform Holt about the lead. They tried capturing the suspect but he was able to escape. Holt furious about Peralta's behavior and refusal to follow order assigns him to the record room.  Eventually they found a lead and pointed them to a storage unit where they eventually caught the suspect. Peralta was more open to the changes and had a moment to bond with Holt.

I didn't watch the show when it first aired in Septemeber 2013. I read some negative reviews about it that I thought it wasn't a show to watch. But after Brooklyn nine nine won the best comedy show in the Golden globe and I decided to give it a try.

The show stars Terry Crews as Sergeant Terrence "Terry" Jeffords, the precinct squad leader. We are used to seeing Crews playing character who is physically intimidating but really a softie. It isn't really something new but nevertheless still very fun to watch. Peralta reminds me of J.D. in scrubs. He is corny at times and finds himself always trying to get on the good side of his superior.

After watching the pilot episode, I decided to give this newbie show a try. What are your thoughts?

Also in the Episode Julia follows Junior in an abandoned cement plant. Junior explained that he was trying to find a way out of Chester’s Mill. As junior was approaching the barrier with his flashlight, it explodes leaving them in the dark. They had to use matches to find the passage out.

Under the Dome Season 1 episode 2: The Fire

When Barbie woke up he realizes that his dog tag has gone missing. He set out to retrieve it at the Cabin where he killed Peter Shumway. Junior Rennie has followed him believing that he and Angie has a sexual affair. Out of Jealousy Junior confronts Barbie and a fight broke out.

The radio station DJ Phil and radio engineer Dodee has pick up a transmission between the Military groups stationed outside the dome. Julia heard about it and shared the information to townsfolk using the radio. After Duke Perkins’ death, Big Jim and Reverend Coggins plans to destroy the evidence regarding the propane Shipment. Coggins set Duke’s house on fire but miscalculated and got himself trapped inside. The town has cooperated to pass on the buckets of water to stop the fire from spreading further. Jim Rennie runs of unexpectedly but came back with a tractor to bring down the foundation of the house.

One of the town’s deputies, Paul, has gone hysterically and shot a bullet at the dome. Unfortunately the bullet ricocheted and hit another deputy, Freddy killing him instantly. Paul was subdued by Barbie and was arrested soon after.

We learn more about the secrets of the People of Chester’s Mill are keeping and the lengths that they are willing to do to keep it secret. People are starting to become desperate and people are panicking. I expect that more of this panic will manifest in the future episode.  There more questions still yet left unanswered. Hope next episode we will get more answers.

New TV series review: Under the Dome

A mysterious dome appears out of nowhere trapping residents of Chester's Mill  inside. The dome has disrupted Mobile phones and the Internet leaving those trapped unable to contact the outside world. Radio communication is the only means for people in Chester's Mill to communicate inside the dome.

People outside the dome has failed to break through the invisible barrier. As the days passes by people grows more desperate, water and food becomes more scarce and people either try to hold on to or seize the power to lead Chester's Mill. The dome has affected several individuals causing them to have seizures and reciting the lines "Pink stars are falling". We have to watched the show to see how the story unfolds. Having read several books written by Stephen King, I bet the master story will have a lot of twist and surprise before we truly learn the secrets of the dome.

Person of Interest Season 2 Episode 11: 2πR

Don't read if you haven't watched this episode

Following the events of the Person of interest’s last episode, Shadow Box, Reese was captured by the FBI and has been taken to Rikers. FBI agent Nicholas Donnelly is hell bent to find out who among the four people that they have in custody is the man in the suit. Using the the DNA samples and fingerprint from Reese’s last arrest, Donnelly was really confident that they will have their man.

While Reese in prison Finch poses as a substitute teacher (who is currently on an all expense trip to Maui ) to protect student named Caleb Phipps. Caleb is a genius and is developing a ground breaking computer code that could compress a large amount of data. On the side he is also an elusive drug dealer that has employed two students from his school to do his bidding without them knowing it.

One Caleb’s teacher, Chris Beckner, discovered the computer code that Caleb was developing and copied the file from Caleb’s computer in school. Caleb is writing the code long hand and transferring the code in one of the school’s computer. At first Finch thought that Beckner was stealing Caleb’s work and selling it as his own. Later Beckner confessed that Caleb told him what he was creating the code and informed him that he Beckner will get the credit for the algorithm. In return Caleb asked Beckner to give the money from selling the code to his mother. Beckner informed Finch that he never intended to take credit for Caleb’s work from the beginning.

Finch is puzzled why Caleb would go to such length to gain money knowing how talented he is. Later they realized that he is putting all the money that he made in a trust fund intended for her mother. They also realized that Caleb’s brother was killed in an accident in a train station and Caleb has blamed himself for his death. Caleb has been planning to kill himself in the same station where his brother died. But before doing so, he would need to amass enough money to leave her mother. Finch was able to discover Caleb’s plan and was able to convince Caleb to stop.

Also In the episode, Carter picks up a man and drugged him. She then took a DNA sample to switch it with Reese’s DNA. Carter then breaks into the FBI and swaps the sample.  Donnelly then gets the Result of the DNA testing which showed that none matches the four people he has in custody. Donnelly refused to release them and believes that there is a mole in the FBI. He asked Carter to use her skills she acquired as military interrogator to find the identity of the man in suit.

There is not much of Reese in this Episode. It is refreshing to find out a bit about Finch’s background story. In this episode, we learned that Finch was gifted and knowledgeable with computer code even as a kid. The main obstacle that Finch and Reese are facing in this episode is the FBI. Donnelly is closing in to his identity and it is a matter of time before he finds out the truth.

The Following Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot

The shows revolve around the lives of former FBI agent Ryan Hardy and the infamous serial killer that he caught named Joe Carroll. Years after Carroll’s arrest and days before his execution, the Carroll killed five guards and successful escaped prison. The now retired Ryan Hardy was called by the FBI as a consultant to apprehend Carroll.
The Police then put Carroll’s ex-wife, Claire Mathews, under protection. Also they immediately put Dr. Sarah Fuller, Carroll’s last victim who survived, under protection as well. Little does Ryan and the FBI knows that Carroll has created a master plan to abduct Sarah and finish his work. At first Carroll sent one of his followers to the FBI and ordered her to stab herself in the eye. They later discovered that a prison guard named Jordy help Carroll escaped. They discovered that he is learning to Carroll’s way using animals. Later Ryan talked to Claire and we soon discovered that they had an affair. Claire mentioned that Carroll’s book was a way of tribute to his hero Edgar Allan Poe and in a way the book was to finish Poe’s work. Ryan soon realized that Carroll would go after Sarah to finish his work. Ryan then rushed to Sarah’s house but they were too late. Sarah’s neighbors Paul and Jacob abducted her and delivered her to Carroll. Ryan found a picture in Paul and Jacob’s apartment taken in a lighthouse in Virginia.

Ryan then went to the lighthouse and heard Sarah screaming. He found Carroll but he was too late. Carroll was able to finish his work and killed Sarah by removing her eyes. Carroll explained that the eyes is connected by 7 seven muscles and that he removes it one by one. In the end the voice that Ryan heard was from a recording. Sarah was hanging upside down with a rope tied to her feet.
Ryan then jumped Carroll and was about to strangle him to death. Moments later the FBI arrived and Carroll announced that he is surrendering.  Later Ryan questioned Carroll. Carroll explained that Sarah was killed for Ryan’s benefit. He explained that Ryan is part of his plans and that his followers have something in store for him. Carroll demanded that he talks to Claire but Ryan said that she would agree with it. Before the episode ended, Claire’s son, Joey, went missing. Emma, Joey’s babysitter, took him and delivered him to Paul and Jacob. The episode ended with Carroll shouting “Call Claire!”

This is one of best pilot that I have seen in a while. I am personally drawn more to Joe Carroll than Ryan Hardy. I like the idea that the hero has flaws as Carroll has stated in the episode. After being stab by Carroll while saving Sarah, Ryan had to have a pacemaker to keep his heart pumping. In the pilot episode it showed that his heart condition hinders Ryan physically. In the episode it also shows that he has drinking and attitude issues. I am sure we will discover more of Ryan’s reputation in the next episodes.
Since Carroll is days away from his execution, I have the feeling that they would postponed it to get more information from him. As he has stated, Carroll would in some way help Ryan. I bet the series would revolve around catching Carroll’s followers. We just happen next to Ryan. Will he be reinstated by the FBI? I have this feeling that a member of the FBI or some other agency is part of Carroll’s cult. We have met 5 followers so far: Jordy, Paul, Jacob, Emma and the girl who committed suicide. The real question is how many are still out there?

Realizing that they won’t stop until one them is dead; Reese with the reluctant help of Detective Carter kidnapped both of them.  Finch acts as a marriage counsellor to help them resolve their difference. Eventually Sabrina told them details about the man who is supposed to kill Daniel. She tried to call off the killers but the contact number that they provided is now unreachable.  Daniel then admitted that he tried to call Santi to call off the hit but wasn’t able to reach him as well.
They brought them back their house to lure the killers to them. Eventually they came for them and Reese with the help of Fusco and Carter was able to stop them from killing the Drakes. The Drakes were then arrested but refuse to testify against each other. They figured that they won’t stay locked up since they could hire expensive lawyers.
Also in this episode, flashback of Finch’s pass is revealed. It mainly shows his relationship with Grace, an artist that Finch saw in a park while testing the machine. Nothing much is revealed about the machine but I think it is to emphasize how much Finch had to give up for the safety of Grace from those who wanted Finch and the Machine.
Mark Pellegrino guest stars as Daniel Drake and has mark another reunion for the Lost TV series cast which Michael Emerson (Harold Finch) was also part of and portrayed Ben in the said TV series.

Merlin Season 5 Episode 9: With All My Heart

Don’t read if you haven’t seen the episode

Arthur finally learns of Morgana’s control over Guinevere.  Determined to break Morgana’s spell called Teine Diaga he consults Gauis. The means to end a spell would be only known by the high Priestess and the Dochraid. The Dochraid is a believer of the old religion ways and is in league with Morgana. Leaving them with no choice, Merlin transforms to Dragoon the great and confronts the Dochraid. Merlin was able to get the information that he needs but had use the Excalibur to get it. The Excalibur is the only weapon powerful enough to harm creatures like the Dochraid.

They have to travel to the Cauldron of Arianrhod and have to summon a white goddess. But they would have to put Guinevere to sleep in the process. When they were secretly leaving the castle with Gwen, they encountered Mordred and Gwayne. Modred was suspicious and followed them.

Only a sorcerer could summon the white goddess. Arthur was not willing to work with Dragoon the great. Leaving them with no choice, Gauis told Arthur that it would a sorceress named Dolma that would help them. Dolma is Merlin Old Female form. Only the water of the Cauldron of Arianrhod would be able to heal her but she has to enter the waters on her own free will.

The Dochraid alerted Morgana immediately and she intended to stop them at all cost. She brought her Dragon A to interfere with Arthur’s plan but the Dragon for Merlin who used his powers as Dragon lord to make leave. Morgana was able to capture Mordred and she tried to convince him to join her. Modred again refuse and use his powers to magically push Morgana.

In the Lake , Gwen has awakened and would not come to the waters willingly. Arthur talked to him and used the words that used in their wedding vows “With all my heart” to stir Gwen’s emotions. Eventually she entered the water and Merlin used his magic to summon the white Goddess. On their return to Camelot, Mordred talked to Merlin about trusting him. He told Merlin that he will prove himself worthy of Merlin’s trust.

I have to say I am pretty disappointed with how the episode ended. I thought that Merlin had use a huge amount of magic to summon the White Goddess. But when Merlin released the Teine Diaga it was anti-climatic. I have expected more especially that there are only a few episodes left in the series. But I have to admit the Dolma scene was funny. They haven’t put much comedy in the series as they use to. But with time running out, I would have wanted to see Merlin use more Magic.

Person of interest Season 2 episode 6: The high Road

Reese and Finch got another number which leads them to Graham Wyler. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary but Finch later discovers that the real Graham Wyler is dead and Graham’s real name is Lloyd Pruitt.  Lloyd now lives with his wife Connie and has a daughter named Izzy.  Reese enlisted the help of Zoe Morgan to act as his wife as he moves in to Suburbia to get closer to Graham.
Later Graham’s old friends Chris Vaughn and Daniel Burnside track him down. It is later revealed that Graham was a master safecracker. Graham refused to join Chris and Daniel in the last heist which led to their arrest and was locked up for 12 years. Chris and Daniel blame Graham for their arrest and asked him to join them in their next heist which would allow them to leave the country.  With his family being threatened, Graham eventually agrees to take the job.

Finch was able to find out where the next heist would take place. Their next target is in a high rise residential unit belonging to Enver Clerik a gem dealer who currently out of town. But instead Cleriks nephew Atay throws a party and later would be held hostage to Vaughn’s men. They are setting up Graham to take the fall as they have prepared mask to hide their identity but has not brought enough for witnesses to identify Graham.
Reese had to rappel from a few story up to reached Graham. Eventually with Reese’s help, Graham got a gun and pointed it at Vaughn. Reese was able to convince not to pull the trigger. With the help of Detective Carter, Reese and Graham got a safe passage out of the building. As they were about to leave, Graham decides to turn himself in and stated that he is done running and he would start owning up to his crime. Graham turned state witness and was sentenced to house arrest with a monitor strapped to his ankle.

The Episode also shows flashback of Harold’s old life back in 2004. Harold was talking to his old Colleague Nathan on how he is teaching the machine to distinguish human behaviours. The machine has pointed out a woman painting nearby. Later it is revealed that it is Grace Hendricks. She would soon be Harold’s fiancée. But Harold had to leave and fake his own death to protect Grace. It is still not revealed why the machine picked Grace out of the many people in the park. Maybe in the next episodes we will know more.
This is another great episode for Person of interest. Although aside from the flashbacks, this entirely connected the show’s main villains: HR, Elias, Ruth or the organization keeping the machine. Also the FBI hunting down Reese is not in this episode. Nevertheless I find person of interest one of the best show currently airing.
