Izombie pilot review

After watching different types of zombie inspired movies and TV series, I thought I have seen it all. I thought Izombie would just like another zombie comedy show in TV just like z nation or Zombieland. But I was wrong. It is a  refreshing take on zombies.  Most zombies are mindless corpse walking around without any of their humanity left inside of them. In Izombie, the undead are different. They still have a normal heart beat. They are still mostly human with a bizarre food preference. Brains. The less they eat brains the more they become zombies.

The fun part about this is that after eating, zombies would have some of the memories of the people whose brain they just ate. Not only that, they learn skills or behaviour of those people.

The story revolves around Liv Moore (yeah I think it is a pun. Live more?). Liv has the perfect life. She was going to get hitched in a couple of months and then she became a zombie.

Months later she left her promising career for a job in the morgue. She distant herself from her family and called off the wedding in fear that she might infect her love ones.

Then her supervisor learned of her secret. But instead of running away like a normal person,  Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti was fascinated with her condition and was determine to find a cure.

To complicate things, she got involved in solving a murder case. Posing as a Phycic, she help a new detective, , in a solving a crime. Since then she dedicated her life in helping find justice for the people she is feeding on.

I actually enjoyed watching the pilot. It is something like watching warm bodies. It reminded me of the show Heroes as well. Zachary Quinto's character Sylar was eating other people's brains to gain their ability. It is somewhat similar.

Overall the lead actress really fits the role. I think she looks better when she became a zombie. I'll this show a shot and watch the succeeding episode before deciding whether or not to watch the show

What do you think of Izombie?
