How I met your mother Season 9 Episode 7: No Questions Asked

Friday 11:30PM. 42.5 Hours before the wedding

Last episode Daphne has sent Lily a message regarding Marshall’s acceptance of the Judgeship. Marshall is relieved that Lily is complaining about the room that they got which room number 13 instead of learning about Marshall’s Judgeship. The room is rumored to be haunted by the supposed serial killer Captain Dearduff the Hooker. Rumor also has it that Dearduff died in room in 1843 when he froze to death next to the window when his hook got stuck in the wall.

Moments later Marshall asked Ted to do a “No questions asked” for helping Ted get out of a mailbox in New York City. Ted is to delete the last text message that Lily received. He instructed Ted to use the door since the lock is broken. But instead he climbed down the drain pipe and tried to use a hanger to unlock the window. He was discovered by Lily but he was able to put her back to sleep using a version of Marvin’s Lullaby.

As he was searching for Lily’s phone he heard voices from the ventilation shaft. Barney was inside it and was searching for Lily’s phone as well. Barney also owes Marshall a no questions asked when he signed Barney out of the hospital for swallowing Lucky charms. Lily was awaken and was asking Barney what he was doing but shortly after room service arrived. Lily stormed off to complain about the room service and was refusing to pay it. Later Robin came out of the food cart and revealed that he owes Marshall a “No questions asked”. Marshall was asked by Robin to meet her in an alley. He caught her and escaped from weird people wearing spandex. Robin was wearing spandex as well. They all could not find found and then they realize that she has it with her.

On the reception area, Lily was complaining about the room service. She was about to call Marshall when Ted asked her to destroy her phone for the “No questions ask” that she owes him. Apparently he helped Lily when her students tied her up in a chair.

Ted told Marshall that he succeeded and asked him why he didn’t ask him for a “No question asked”. Marshall told him that he never kept anything from Lily which prompted him to tell her the truth. Lily didn’t take it easily and said that he never believed that anyone died in room 13 but somebody will die there soon.
I was wondering about the whole concept of the “No question asked”. In real life would you do anything without asking questions? I am sure that I would if anybody asked me but I would sure make sure to make fun of that person. I don’t think anyone ask me that kind of request before? Has anyone asked you to do that? Now the concept did not appear in the whole show until this episode.  I wonder why they didn’t make any hints about that. It could have been a recurring plot like the Slaps which reminds me that Marshall still has one slap to give. What are your thoughts on No questions asked?
