Under the Dome Pilot Episode review

In The woods in Chester’s Mill, Army Veteran Dale “Barbie” Barbara buries an unidentified man. On his way out of Chester’s Mill, a mysterious barrier appears out of nowhere blocking his escape. Shortly after he saves a boy named Joe McAllister from the falling debris of Plane that Crash into the invisible Barrier.  Later Barbie met the town’s reporter Julia Shumway.

When the Dome appeared, all modes of communications became useless except for radios which are still working inside the dome. At the local radio station, DJ Phil and the radio engineer Dodee discovered a radio frequency from outside the dome. However they are still unable to send messages outside but they could only listen in to the conversations.

Joe McAllister’s sister, Angie just ended her fling with the town’s councilman’s son Junior Rennie. He didn’t take it well and imprisons Angie in the family’s underground Shelter. Junior also saw Angie talking to Barbie. Junior confronts Barbie and they got into a fight.

On a different part of town, Caroline and Alice and their daughter Norrie were about to leave Chester’s Mill when they saw a truck crash into the invisible barrier. Soon after their daughter Norrie experienced an epileptic episode. Joe McAllister also experienced the same epileptic episode similar to what Norrie had.

The Town Sheriff Duke Perkins was about to tell his deputy Linda about excess supply of propane when his pacemaker burst killing him without telling Linda anything.

Julia invited Barbie to stay with her since he saved Joe Mcallister’s life. Barbie recognized the picture in the house. The person that he buried was Julia’s Husband Peter Shumway.

Under the dome is something different. Since Stephen King himself is part of the TV series, it would be interesting how he would interpret his novel to TV screens. There are still a lot of questions left unanswered. Definitely this is a show to watch. What are your thoughts?
