Person of Interest Season 3 Episode 10: Devil's Share

A grief stricken Reese hunts down Officer Simmons for killing his friend Joss Carter. Reese himself was shot and is badly injured. On the Manhunt as well, Shaw is also trying to track Simmons by herself. Worried about Reese who is badly injured and Shaw going on a savage manhunt as well, Finch talks to Fusco for help in tracking down both Reese and Shaw before they end up hurting more people and Reese ending up dead.

Simmons plans to leave the country using forged papers. Reese tracks down the forgers but was unable to get the location of Simmons. Shaw tracks down one of the associate of the people that Reese just attacked but was unable to get any information.

Finch was left with no choice but to ask the help of Root to find Reese. Reese was going after Alonzo Quinn to find out about Simmons’ exit strategy. He raided a building full of U.S. Marshall agents and was able to find Quinn. At first Quinn was reluctant to help Reese but after learning that Reese plans to kill him whether he divulge Simmons’ location or not he eventually gave him the location where Simmons could be found. Reese was about to kill Quinn and despite Finch’s statement he went on and pulled the trigger. Fortunately for Quinn, Reese is out of Bullets.

Finch, Shaw and Root took Reese back to Finch’s hideout and attended to his wounds while Fusco stayed behind for the FBI to arrive to turn over Quinn. Fusco learns of the Simmons’ location and takes him down. He surrendered Simmons to the Police and then he was treated for his wounds.

Elias is waiting in Simmons’ hospital room waiting for him to wake up. Elias explained that he has a debt to repay to Carter. Elias has offered several time to kill Simmons but Carter would not allow it. Elias then watch as his associate kill Simmons.

Root is back in the Library. Finch is still skeptical and does not trust Root. Root told him that they would face a bigger problem and that she prefers that they work together when it finally comes.

This is a very emotional episode. Even Shaw who is reluctant to let her feeling cloud her decision is full of anger and was as out of control as Reese. Kudos to Jim Caviezel. He played his role masterfully. The episode really gave the death of Joss Carter meaning. The question now is would Reese still be the same calm badass as he usually was. Or would he be filled with hate now that Carter is gone. Carter was his moral compass in a way. Would he be more like Shaw now?

What is this problem that Root keeps on talking about? Now that HR is gone, the only major players now are Elias and the Russians. Would the government now give them problems or would the organization who wanted to claim the machine in the previous season be a bigger threat?
