The Blacklist Pilot

One of FBI’s most wanted fugitives has surrendered. Raymond “Red” Reddington was trained by the Navy and was being groomed to be an admiral until he left his wife and child and became a broker of deals for Criminals.

He agreed on helping the FBI in capturing an individual who they thought was dead and was preparing a chemical attack on the United States. But he has only one rule. He would only talk to Elizabeth Keen. Keen is a rookie FBI profiler who is just starting her career with the FBI. It is still unknown why Red is so interested in her but the episode has shown that he knows a lot about Keen and has been watching her for quite some time. He has also revealed that he knows about her past starting with her father who is a career criminal and also knows something about her husband. At the end of the episode, Elizabeth found a box hidden in the floor of their kitchen. Inside the box are money, passports and a Gun. Elizabeth confronts Red at the end of the episode regarding his knowledge of his husband’s identity.

When I watched the first episode I was easily hooked. It kinda reminds me of Hannibal Lecter. I think somehow James Spader is channelling him. The idea that Red has a list of criminals that the FBI doesn’t know is quite interesting. Although when I was watching the pilot it kinda reminds me of “The following”. I hope they write a better story line than that show because by the end of the 1st season I found “The following” quite unbelievable and the feat that the cult has achieve was not easy.
