Sleepy Hollow Season 1 Episode 2: Blood Moon

Katrina again appears in Ichabod’s dream. Now she warns him that an army will be gathered before the rise of the four horsemen. Katrina also warns that a witch belonging to a dark coven will rise to aid the Demon who controls the headless horseman.

Captain Frank Irving has informed Abbie that the two policemen who saw the headless horseman have changed their statements. Although Irving somehow believes Abbie, he understands that most people are skeptical and won’t believe their story. He tasked them to gather more information on mysterious events happening in Sleepy Hollow.

Andy Dunn is resurrected by the same Demon who killed him. He was tasked to assist in the resurrection of a witch named Serilda of Abadon. Katrina was responsible for weaken Serilda. Serilda was then captured and burned at the stake. Serilda would need to gather her bones and the ashes of descendants of those who have condemned her to death to rise again.

Ichabod told Abbie about her dream and they set out to the Sheriff Station to access Corbin’s files. Unfortunately it was transferred to the Archives and she would need to get Irving’s approval to gain access to it which they could not get since he is unreachable. Ichabod remembered that there were tunnels beneath the Sheriff office that leads to the archives. They broke through a wall to access the tunnel and were able to get to the files.

After obtaining the ashes of the descendant of the people who killed her, she sets off to the tunnels to obtain her bones. She was successful and the she was rid of all of her burned skin. Ichabod use the gun powder stored in the tunnels to blow her up and kill her.

No headless horseman in this episode. It is seems that John Cho might stay longer to reprise his Andy Dunn Character. We also saw a vision of Sheriff Corbin almost giving advice to Abbie. I found the episode lacking and quite boring. It was easy for them to kill off a powerful witch. Although it is interesting how they mix history with fiction, I am not sure that this episode was something to remember. I hope they do a better job in the next episode.
