Heat wins second straight NBA championship

It was great game. The Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs gave it all but in the end the Heat emerge Victorious. From the 1st to the 4th Quarter, nobody new who would end up winning the championship. There were several lead changes that it is hard to speculate who would win.

If the San Antonio Spurs won, it would be their fifth Championship. If they won that would mean that every time the Spurs reached the NBA finals, they end up winning the championship. But unfortunately they didn't. I would have been a great record. Most people were rooting for the San Antonio based on their NBA finals record.

Lebron James and Dwayne Wade combined for a total of 60 points. James scored 37 points and was named Finals MVP. He joins Bill Rusell and Michael Jordan in the prestigious list of people who got back to back regular season and finals MVP awards.

It wasn't a big game for Chris Bosh who did not score but contributed 7 rebounds. The hero of Game 6, Ray Allen, did not score as well. Help came from Shane Battier who scored a total of 18 points which all came beyond the arc.

On the San Antonio side, Danny Green scored only 5 points. Kawli Leonard had a great game with 16 rebounds and 19 points. Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker combined with 28 points, 9 assists and 3 steals.Tim Duncan leads the Spurs in scoring with 24 points.

Rumors has emerged about Tim Duncan's retirement. Before the end of the series, there were speculations that Tim Duncan would retire after this season if they won the championship. Now it is still up in the air whether this would be Duncan's last season.

During the awarding ceremony, they gave their praises to Lebron and Shane Battier. I think they should have included Ray Allen. Without his heroics, the Heat's championship bid would have ended in Game 6.

So next season am I rooting for the Heat? I am not sure. I root for all the players in Heat roster except for Lebron James. I know he could score a lot but most of the time you couldn't rely on him when it matters most. I guess we will have to wait next season if they will be able to defend their title

Apple and Samsung doesn't own the Smartphone world

I think a lot of people would agree with me that in the Smartphone world, small Smartphone makers can go head to head with giants like Apple and Samsung. Three years ago it is a different story but today brands like Huawei, ZTE, and HTC are slowly getting a piece of the market. Here in the Philippines brands like Cherry Mobile and Myphone are offering budget phones that could compete in terms of features against the Smartphone giants.

I honestly considered buying one of the Myphone model, A919. Why do you ask? It has a 1 GHz dual core processor, 5 inch screen and an 8 megapixel camera. On top of that you could insert 2 sim cards and use it simultaneously. The price is below Php8,000. That is a good deal with all the features that it has.

Do get me wrong. I think Apple and Samsung phones are worth it. That is if you could afford them. But for those who can't there are lot of smartphone makers out there that you should consider.

Nokia use to dominate the cellphone market before the release of Smartphones, They have been trying to win back the piece of the market that they have lost. They have recently release Windows phone in an attempt to gain the trust of their customers, but gaining the lead in market would not be as easy as it use to be especially small company or start up company has joined the smartphone bandwagon.

Personally I don't think the brand matters. What matters is the features that the Smartphone offers. Some may still give a lot of weight with the brand but why spend all that money if you buy a phone with all the features that you need for less? Well that's just me. What do you think?

Apps to customize the appearance of your android phone

Since I bought an Android phone, I have been downloading and trying out some apps that seems interesting. I have always wanted to change the appearance of how my phone looks (something that I haven'y done with my Iphone) and found some apps that has done wonders in customizing the appearance of my phone.

1. Launcher

Launchers are apps that will help you customize the appearance of your smartphone screen. There are several out there like: Nova, Holo, ADW and a lot more. What I am using right now is the Smart Launcher. It is easy to customize and very pleasing to the eyes. One of the feature that I like about this launcher is that it automatically sorts your apps into different categories. I you want to transfer an app to a different category, all you have to do is drag the app.

2. Sliding Messaging

Here is a great app if you want to change how your messaging looks like. By the way this is a completely different app. I have tried deleting the default messaging app in Android but have not been successful. Downside to this app is that you would receive two notification when you receive one SMS. Maybe there is a way to modify the notification but I still have to discover it. You could also change the themes by downloading in google play.

3. Fonts

Are you tried of the same generic fonts in you keyboard? There is an alternative to your built in fonts. Download a Go keyboard and you will be able to customize the font and the appearance of your keyboard.

I am still discovering the Android world. I will provide more updates and share what I have discovered with the apps that I have download

IOS vs. Android

Which is the better platform? I have used an Iphone for the last two years and have recently started using an android phone. I have found android a better choice. Here are the reason why.

1. Customization

- You can't do a lot of customization with IOS. One of features that I wanted my Iphone to have is to capability to change the appearance. I heard that in IOS 7 that somehow change the appearance but I am not sure to what extent. With Android phones, you could change the appearance by downloading launchers. There are quite a few good one out there. So far I have tried the Smart Launcher and have been satisfied.

2. Apps choices

- You can find a lot of apps in the Apple Store. The only problem is, most of the good ones are not free. with Android, you could find a variety of great apps which are free on Google play. Another great thing about android phones is that you don't necessarily have to root your phone to be able to use some of the apps.

3. Phone features.

- IOS is not particularly fond of sharing data. The bluetooth feature could by use mostly using two IOS phone. This is totally different with android in which you could pair would almost any other phones.
- FM Radio feature is not readily available for IOS phones. If you want to listen to the radio, you would have to download an app for it.

4. Affordability

- This is one of the main reason why I bought an android phone in the first place. I wanted to upgrade  my outdated Iphone and would cost a lot of money to buy am Iphone 5 or Iphone 4s. Not to mention that they might release another Iphone within the year. Who knows?

Are you an Android user or an IOS user? What are your thoughts?

Heat forces Game 7 against Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs needed only 1 game to win the NBA championship this year. But unfortunately the Miami Heat wasn't going to let it end without giving a fight. Spurs was executing their game plan and with only 2 minutes left in the game, Lebron James made two crucial turnovers. The Spurs were ahead by 5 points with only 28 seconds left. And then Ray Allen came in. Allen hit the crucial points to tie the game and send it to overtime. In the end the Miami won with an end score 103 to 100.

To be honest, I turned off the TV with only 28 seconds left in game. I thought San Antonio has bagged the championship this year. I really thought that there was no chance in hell that Miami would be able to get out of the mess that Lebron created. And then I saw my friend and told him that they lost. He agreed and told me that he lost some money betting. I told him that it was Lebron's fault why the heat lost. He was puzzled. He told me that the Miami won and he lost the bet that the Spurs would win game 6. I checked the Internet and saw that the Miami did really win. Some Miami fans who left the game early were not allowed back inside for the overtime minutes. Imagine how that feels. It's got to suck that they paid a lot for the tickets but were not allowed for the comeback win. But then again they should have not given up their hope with heat early.

So next game It's all or nothing for both teams. We will have to see if James, Wade and Bosh would be able to win their second straight championship for Miami or would the San Antonio Spurs win their 5th ring?

I used to think that Miami's fate lies on how Lebron plays. He does make a lot of points but somehow he could not deliver during crunch time. If it wasn't for Ray Allen, the Heat might have lost their bid for the Championship this year. Don't count Allen out just yet. Either way the NBA finals
would be done after game 7. We just to wait a little longer to see what happens next.

Sun Broadband Service state: Trinoma Mall

I recently brought my pocket Wifi when we went to the Medical City clinic last week. So I did the usual test by opening facebook, watching a clip in Youtube and browsing other sites. The Sun broadband did not disappoint.

Sun Broadband Service state: Ever Gotesco Mall Commonwealth

I was in Ever Gotesco Mall the other day and was putting the Sun Broadband to the test. There were 3 users connected. We were all connected to Facebook. One was watching a clip and Youtube and connection was pretty normal. It was raining as well. Most of the time for some reason the broad band connection is somehow slow.
